Heavy rains create temporary river
Posted Aug. 10, 2013
Several days of rain created a flowing stream in what would ordinarily be a dry pasture area on SW 20th Street about a half mile west of U.S. 281. The water was deep enough that a car stalled out when it tried to go through and had to be pulled out with a pickup. The car would not start and eventually had to be towed out. The driver was not injured. More rain is expected in the next couple of days so drivers need to be alert for moving water. Remember: Turn around, don't drown.
