HESSTON — The Hesston College women’s basketball team fell to Fort Scott Community College 79-60 Wednesday in NJCAA Division II, Region VI play at Yost Center in Hesston.

The Larks trailed 15-8 after the first quarter and 39-23 at the half. Hesston did win the third quarter 23-15, but dropped the fourth quarter 25-14.

Shanessia Walters led Fort Scott with 17 points, followed by Sarah Kelley with 16, Natalia Ready with 15 and Yazmin Batch with 10.

Whitney Green scored 14 points for Hesston.

The Larks were hampered by 29 turnovers.

Fort Scott improves to 15-7, 3-6 in Region VI play. Hesston falls to 10-16, 0-8 in Region VI play. Hesston hosts Labette Community College at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

HESSTON — The Hesston College men’s basketball team fell to Fort Scott Community College 63-50 Wednesday in NJCAA Division II, Region VI play at Yost Center in Hesston.

Fort Scott led 26-20 at the half, pulling away in the second half.

Tyler Zinn led the Greyhounds with 20 points, followed by Brolon Moton with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Logan Miller added 11.

Heath Agnew scored 12 points to lead Hesston.

Fort Scott improves to 13-14, 5-4 in Region VI play. Hesston falls to 10-15, 1-8 in the region. Hesston hosts Labette Community College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
