Aubrey Meyers advanced to State while the PHS girls golf team tied for 5th at the Hays regional on Monday.

Cold and blustery is not the type of weather normally associated with golf, but the Pratt High girls golf team was faced with exactly that on Monday at the Hays 4A regional.

Despite the inclement conditions, PHS' Aubrey Meyers earned a trip to State with an 8th place medal, shooting 102 on a day when only 6 players in the field were able to score in double digits. The weather and the notoriously difficult Smoky Hill course made it quite a challenge to score well.

As a team Pratt was tied for 5th with Larned at 512 points. Andale edged host Hays High 400-401 to earn the team title.

Other scorers for Pratt were Sarah Skaggs 22nd 128; Payton Sheldon 34th 137; Ryleigh Cook 36th 145.

Lauryn Dipman 40th 152 and Kendall Hutchinson 47th 168 also played for Lady Green.

PHS #1 Lady Linkster Aubrey Meyers will tee it up at the Topeka- Lake Shawnee Golf Course on Monday October 16 in the 4A State Tournament to compete for individual honors.
