Sian Helfrich and Brett Winsor will be the only Greenbacks competing in this year's State track meet.

It will be a rather small Pratt High contingent at this weekend’s State Track Meet Friday and Saturday at Wichita’s Cessna Stadium.

The 4A regional at Andale was held last Thursday, and it was a tough one. On the girls side, Andale dominated scoring 161 points. McPherson was runner-up (74) and Smoky Valley took third (68). PHS came in 12th with 11 points on the day.

Andale also won the boys division, outdistancing Buhler 108-94. Hugoton finished third with 69. PHS tallied 8 points to finish 14th.

Individually, freshman Sian Helfrich and junior Brett Winsor qualified, but they will be the only Greenbacks competing.

Helfrich took 4th in the 200m 26.87 and 4th in the 300mH 47.30 to earn her way to the State meet.

Winsor downloaded his ticket to Wichita with a third in the 300mH 40.65. In addition, Winsor long-jumped 20’8.5 which was good for 5th place, but just short of State qualifying. (Top four finishers advance.)
