LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley and Pratt both knew heading into Friday’s quarterfinal matchup that one team’s perfect season would come to an end.

Neither team expected the outcome to be quite so lopsided.

Pratt, led by electric senior quarterback Travis Theis, made a statement as the Greenbacks marched into Lindsborg and left with a 46-0 victory. Pratt (11-0) will head back home to host undefeated Andale in the Class 3A Semifinals.

Smoky Valley ends its season with a 10-1 record.

The Vikings took the first drive of the game deep into Pratt territory before coming away empty. Pratt wasted no time on their first possession as Theis capped off the drive with a quarterback sneak from the goal line.

Theis accounted for two more touchdowns in the second quarter, and Daniel Sanchez nailed a 25-yard field goal as the second quarter expired to give the Greenbacks a 25-0 lead at halftime.

The break did not slow down Pratt as Theis ran for three more touchdowns in the second half to secure the 46-point win.

Theis finished the game with 96 yards passing, 206 yards rushing, and six total touchdowns. Smoky Valley head coach Tim Lambert called Theis the best high school football player he’s seen in years.

For Smoky Valley, senior Cort Elliott led the offense with 108 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
