Liberty Middle School’s wrestling season got off to a great start on Monday in Hoisington. LMS participated as guests in their former middle school league that included Hoisington, Larned and Hays Kennedy. As guests in this event, Pratt was unable to score team points or earn medals but earned valuable mat time.
The Liberty Middle School seventh grade boys captured the Southern Kansas League Tournament championship with an exciting 2-point win over previously unbeaten Clearwater.
The Liberty Middle School eighth grade boys turned the tables on Andale, who had defeated them twice in the season, with a 44-40 win Monday in the SK League Tournament at Kingman.
Liberty Middle School 7th and 8th grade girls beat Colwich on Thursday. The 7th grade girls moved to 10-3 on the season after beating the previously undefeated Colwich team 24 to 21.
Liberty Middle School eighth grade girls continue to be undefeated this season at 10-0 with recent wins against Andale and Medicine Lodge. Against Andale LMS won 30 to 22 and beat Larned 40-15.
Skyline Middle School’s A Team boys lost 37-29 to a tall Pretty Prairie team on Dec. 8. The B Team boys played two quarters earlier in the evening and won. The girls A Team won 21-20 in overtime and the B Team game ended with a 7-6 win. Skyline Middle School. Skyline Middle School hosts Norwich on Thursday with the A girls and B boys playing at 6. A boys and B girls tip off at 7:15.
The Liberty Middle School 7th grade boys’ team was able to get back into the winning column with a relatively easy win against Andale Monday at the Frog Dome.
Liberty Middle School 8th grade girls are now 7-0 on the season after a 30 to 18 victory over Clearwater on Thursday. Leading scorer was Breann Becker with 13 points. Kelsey Potter had 11 points.
Liberty Middle School 8th grade girls remain undefeated almost halfway through the basketball season, but they had to battle to end up with a 27-26 win in overtime against Colwich Monday night. Breann Becker led the team with 14 points.
Better offensive execution in the second half allowed the Liberty Middle School eighth grade boys to pull away from Kingman Monday night for the second win of the season. They stand at 2-3 going into the Thanksgiving break.
The Liberty Middle School eighth grade boys held Medicine Lodge to just 5 points on Nov. 17, while scoring 29 for their first win of the season.
Liberty Middle School girls swept Medicine Lodge Thursday. The 8th graders remain undefeated on the season after beating Medicine Lodge 38 to 12.
Liberty Middle School eighth grade girls advanced to 3-0 on the season with a 37-17 win against St. Mark’s Monday. Scorers were Kelsey Potter and Breann Becker with 12 each, Bailey Batman, 6, Destani Garten 5 and Kirsten Roberts 2.
Liberty Middle School girls faced Andale on Nov. 7. In the 8th grade game, Pratt won 22 to 13. Scorers were Breann Becker with 13 points, Destani Garten with 4 , Kelsey Potter with 3 and Bailey Batman with 2 for the Lady Greenbacks.

The Liberty Middle School eighth grade volleyball team finished its season at second place in the league and second in the SKL tourney.
