Greenback wrestlers finish season with trips to Lyons, Hesston

Liberty Middle School had three individual champions at the Lyons Invitational Saturday, and 14 Greenbacks finished in the medals.
Drake Evert, Shawn Ramos and Cesar Regalado went unbeaten on the day to earn gold medals in their weight classes.
Trae’ Foreman, Cody Hoy, Nick Koler, Joshua Ash, Ethan Sharp, Taylor White, Devon Willard, Brendon Pribil and Drew Dobbs all finished second, earning the silver medal.
Wayde Freeman and Tyler Foreman finished third with a bronze medal.
“This tournament is intended to give participants experience and no team points were awarded,” LMS coach Bryan Pixler said. “Our athletes competed very well as they should at this point in the season.”
LMS competed Monday at Hesston, finishing their season with a rescheduled triangular.
The Greenbacks won 20 of 32 bouts.
Cooper Crump, Drew Dobbs and Taylor White all finished 2-0 on the night. Trae’ Foreman, Hayden May, Tyler Foreman, Drake Evert, Shawn Ramos and Cesar Regalado were also unbeaten at 1-0.
Mac Calloway wrestled three matches and finished with a 2-1 record. Those finishing the night with a 1-1 record were: Cody Hoy, Nick Koler, Joshua Ash, Ethan Sharp, Garrett Johnston and Brett Forshee.
Chandler Voss, Devon Willard, Cheyene Wiese and Wayde Freeman also competed and wrestled well.
“I was very happy with how we finished our season this year,” Pixler said. “I felt that every athlete we had out this year improved.”
