Four individuals won events and both the Skyline Middle School boys and girls teams placed third at the Skyline Invitational, held last Thursday.
Brooke Fisher won the two-mile run in 14:17.28, while Shelby Bender was the only other girls champion as she won the discus with a throw of 70 feet, two inches.
On the boys side, Wyatt Lindley won the two-mile in 20:32 while Blake Lee topped the discus with a throw of 96 feet, 9.75 inches.
Skyline’s boys had a trio of second-place finishes.
Eighth grader Brandon Abbott was the runner-up in the 75-meter hurdles with a time of 13.63 seconds.
Eighth grader Cole Patterson was second in the triple jump at 28 feet, four inches.
The T-birds’ 880 yard relay team was second with a time of 2:14.19.
Bender and Fisher both also picked up a third place finish, as Bender was third in the shot put at 25 feet, 9.5 inches and Fisher finished third in the mile with a time of 6:52.81.
Mycha Owens also picked up a third-place finish for her triple jump of 26 feet, 3.5 inches.
Skyline was third in the girls 880 yard relay in 2:34.43 and in the girls medley relay with a time of 2:36.96.
On the boys side, Lee was third in the shot put with a heave of 32 feet, one inch.
Brad Dearinger took third in the triple jump with a leap of 28 feet, three inches.
Owens also finished fourth in the high jump, clearing the bar at three feet, ten inches.
Taylor DeWeese was fourth in the 75 meter hurdles in 15.69 seconds, and Kadi Richardson had a fourth-place discus throw of 56 feet, five inches.
Skyline’s girls 440 yard relay team came in fourth with a time of 1:12.50.
Kendall Shelite placed fourth in the boys long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 8.5 inches, while Lee was fourth in the 100 yard dash in 13.03 seconds and Shelite came in right behind him with a fifth-place time of 13.09 seconds.
The T-birds’ medley relay team was fourth in the boys race with a time of 2:16.
Also for the Skyline boys team, Daniel Hacker placed fifth in the 220 yard dash with a time of 29 seconds flat, and Gunner DeClue was fifth in the 75 meter hurdles in 15.78 seconds.
Seventh grader Cody Fanning also scored a point for his fifth place finish in the 880 yard run. He completed the race in 3:03.82.
DeWeese was the lone fifth-place finisher for the Skyline girls as she had a discus throw of 54 feet, four inches to get the Lady T-birds another point in the team standings.
Skyline’s girls scored 43 points to finish behind team champion South Barber (106 points) and runner-up Cunningham (93 points).
Stafford was fourth with 31 points and Central Christian finished fifth with 27 points.
The SMS boys scored 56 points to finish behind South Barber and Cunningham.
SBJH scored 89 points to take first, while Cunningham tallied 70 for second.
Stafford was fourth with 49 points and Central Christian scored 35 points for fifth place.
Skyline’s Middle School and High School track teams will compete at Pretty Prairie tomorrow.
Middle school action will begin at 2 p.m., with the high school meet beginning at 4 p.m.
SMS will also compet at Stafford on April 15, and Fairfield on April 29.
