The Andale Middle School Relays held last week gave the Liberty Middle School athletes a look at some increased competition over some of their earlier meets. Despite the tougher challenge in this 10-team meet, Liberty athletes continued to compete and place in their individual and relay events.

The seventh grade girls scored 29 points to place sixth. The seventh grade boys scored 44 points and placed fifth. The eighth grade girls finished third with 77 points and the eighth grade boys were seventh with 28.

“I told the kids beforehand this was going to be a tough meet with teams we haven’t seen before,” LMS coach Steve Strecker said. “We had several personal bests that didn’t even place. This was a good and valuable learning day for the kids. We performed well and we are getting better.”
