The Liberty Middle School wrestling team traveled to Larned on Monday to participate in an event originally billed as a quadrangular that evolved into a small round robin tournament.
Larned, Holcomb and Chaparral's numbers were down significantly from a year ago, so weight classes were combined so athletes could get at least two matches that may have not wrestled at all in a regular dual format.
Drake Evert, Shawn Ramos, Cesar Regalado, Taylor White and Mac Calloway finished with a perfect 3-0 record on the night.
Brendon Pribil was the sixth undefeated wrestler for the night winning both of his matches.
Hayden May, Joshua Ash, Drew Dobbs, Wayde Freeman and Brett Forshee all went 2-1 on the day.
Tyler Foreman, Trae' Foreman, Cody Hoy, Nick Koler, Chandler Voss, Devon Willard and Garrett Johnston all wrestled well winning at least one match.
Colton Paramore, Cheyene Wiese and Corey Degenhardt also participated and gained valuable experience.
"Many of our lighter weights are having to wrestle other teammates in order to have matches,” LMS coach Bryan Pixler said. “Mat time translates into experience and improvement even if our opponents are wearing the same colored uniform."
LMS travels to Russell on Thursday for a double dual with Russell and Larned. Action will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Russell High School.
