Dylon Walker, the Class 4A 189-pound state wrestling champion from El Dorado High School, has signed to wrestle for Pratt Community College next season.
Walker finished his senior season unbeaten with a 34-0 record and won the state title in Salina. He finished fifth at 189 pounds the season before and had a two-year record of 74-7.
“I’m definitely going to Pratt for two years and, hopefully, go to a Division I after that,” Walker said. “They have a good team and they offered me a good scholarship. I know a couple of people who are going there. Overall, it’s a good place for me to go.”
Walker, who recently finished third in the U.S. Senior Nationals, will be wrestling in the 184-pound division for the Beavers.
He chose Pratt over Jayhawk Conference schools Labette and Neosho County; and NCAA Division II school Newman University.
