A 9-0 run in the first half broke open a close game and sent the Pratt Community College womens basketball team to another tough Jayhawk West loss.
Pratt had gotten within 25-17 on a putback by Phylicia Freeman with 8:29 left, but Barton County ran off nine straight points to grab a 34-17 lead with 6:37 on the clock.
Pratt was never really able to make a run at the Cougars, and wound up losing 93-63.
Barton County really put it away with a 15-1 run to start the second half.
The Cougars shot 56 percent from the floor on the night, plus hit nine of 14 three-pointers and 24 of 27 free throws.
Pratt hit just 19 of 59 shots (32.2 percent) and two of 17 three-pointers.
The Beavers did have three players in double figures and they had 11 total steals.
Phylicia Freeman finished with 18 points, three assists, five steals and five rebounds.
Sophomore Corinna Hoyt added 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal while hitting six of seven free throws.
Sophomore Jazmine Bell chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists while Dashia Williams had two steals and Ricci Lambert scored six points.
Pratt (4-26) will open the Region VI Tournament Tuesday night at Cowley (19-10), the second-place team from the Jayhawk East. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. in W.S. Scott Auditorium in Arkansas City.
