The future is bright for Lady Greenback basketball, at least if the 2009-10 junior varsity team is any indication.
Pratt High’s JV girls finished 13-4 with a roster almost completly full of freshmen and sophomores.
In the season’s final week, the Lady Greenbacks defeated Larned and fell to Ulysses.
Pratt 36, Larned 20
Sophomore guard Grace Fellhoelter exploded for 14 points in the second half as Pratt pulled away for a comfortable win.
The Lady Greenbacks led 13-11 at half, but Fellhoelter scored seven points in the third quarter as Pratt extended the lead to 26-18 after three quarters.
That was more than enough, especially after Fellhoelter scored seven more points in the fourth quarter to help PHS secure the win.
Fellhoelter carried the bullk of the scoring load, but Pratt also got seven points from Samantha Snell and four each from Whitney Amaro and Whitney Tilley.
Connor Reh added three points while Stormy Flemming and Taylor Ibarra had two each.

Ulysses 38, Pratt 26
In the season finale against Ulysses, the Lady Greenbacks struggled in the third quarter as the Lady Tigers turned a one-point game into a ten-point one by the start of the fourth quarter.
Pratt trailed 8-7 after one, but rallied for a 15-14 halftime lead.
The third quarter saw Ulysses’s Amanda Langley score nine of her 13 points while helping her team take a 28-18 lead into the final period.
Pratt just wasn’t able to find another rally, as Ulysses held on for the win.
Snell led PHS with nine points while freshman guard Andi Gripe added six.
Ibarra chipped in with five and Amaro finished with three.
The Lady Greenbacks also got two points from Reh and one from Tilley.
