Pratt Green finishes second
The sixth and seventh grade boys division ended round robin play with a three-way tie for third, forcing organizers to break the tie based on point differential.
The Pratt Green, Pratt Press and Arlington Sharks all went 1-3 in round robin play while the Kansas Bruisers were 4-0 and the Kansas Thunder finished 3-1.
The Pratt Green won the tiebreaker and earned the third seed by virtue of their two-point win over Arlington and one-point loss to the Pratt Press.
Arlington was the fourth seed after beating the Green by two and losing to the Press by two, while the Press wound up seeded fifth after losing by two and winning by one during round robin play.
The Pratt Green avenged one of their earlier losses in the first game of bracket play Sunday.
Their 38-37 win over the Kansas Thunder moved the Green into Sunday’s championship game against the Kansas Bruisers.
In the championship game, a huge size disadvantage was too much for the Green to overcome, as the Bruisers’ 6-0 post players scored almost at will in a 68-36 win over the Green.
The Green were led by Shawn Ramos with 13 points.
Against the Thunder Sunday morning, the Green came back from a 20-19 halftime deficit to edge the Thunder 38-37.

That win set them up with a semifinal game against the Kansas Bruisers, a team from the Chaparral school district.

Pratt got seven points from Venard and six from Hayes in the game.
Later Sunday, the Thunder outscored the Press 20-16 in the second half to take a 40-31 win in the third place game.

Team Green takes fifth
A loaded field in the high school girls division gave Team Green, a group of Lady Greenback players, fits in pool play, but the local girls did end on a high note as they defeated Cunningham 27-23 in Sunday’s fifth place game.
Team Green trailed 13-11 at halftime, but Peyton Hoeme scored eight of her game-high nine points in the second half to help Team Green come back for the win.
