Scripture: John (NIV) 4:4 Now he had to go throughSamaria. 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot ofground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixthhour. 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her,“Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the townto buy food.)
Observation: Jesuswas tired; He sat down. Jesus wasthirsty; He asked for a drink of water. Jesusasked the Samaritan woman for something she was able to give. From her, Jesus asked a drink of well water. For her, Jesus offered a drink of livingwater!
Application: Today,Jesus will ask us for something. It willbe something we are able to give. Givingit should not be hard, especially when we realize to Whom we are givingit. Be it placed in the hands of afriend or stranger; we are giving it to Him. It is now His.
It may be as little as a drink of water. It may be as great as my whole life. Whatever it is that He may ask, it will never be greater than what He offersme.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, to you goes all the glory; foryour giving always exceeds mine. Yourgifts to me always surpass my gifts to you. Amen
