Scripture: Luke (NIV) 8:1 After this, Jesus travelledabout from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of thekingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had beencured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom sevendemons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod'shousehold; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support themout of their own means.
Observation: Jesusdid not keep his ministry in the larger population areas, he traveled to thesmaller towns and villages. And in thesame line of thinking, Jesus not only ministered to large crowds, he ministeredto individuals.
Note: The most well-known verse in the Bible(John 3:16) is from Jesus to one person, Nicodemus.
Application: The oneperson I will meet at work today is as important to Jesus as a multitudegathered to hear a sermon. It may be theperson sitting alone at a sporting event to which I have driven a schoolbus. It may be the person getting intothe car parked next to mine as I am leaving the bus barn, or in the parking lotat the grocery store.
Prayer: HolySpirit, make me aware of the individuals around me that need Jesus. Then guide my words to build bridges they cancross to Jesus. Amen
