Scripture: Esther (NIV) 4:12 When Esther's words werereported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think thatbecause you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews willarise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And whoknows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” 15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all theJews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will goto the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, Iperish.” 17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther'sinstructions.
Observation: It is difficult for me to read the book ofEsther and not think of the word 'destiny.' I always associate it with Esther and the unique plan of God to have herin the right place at the right time.
But it is not just the 'important' people, key leaders, and those with bigassignments who are people of destiny. Mordecai was just as important as Esther. Their destinies were linked. In the grand scheme of things, he was just asimportant as Esther.
Application: As God'splan continues into the twenty-first century AD, each of us has an importantdestiny. God has strategically placed usfor His glory. We will meet someonetoday with whom we can share the good news. Their salvation will mean the salvation of their whole family and thesalvation of generations to come. Like Mordecaiand Esther, we all stand in a place of destiny.
Prayer: HolySpirit help me be faithful representing you in my assigned place. Make me see each person and each assignmentas a part of your grand plan for my life. Amen
