Scripture: Psalm (NIV) 69:16 Answer me, O LORD, out ofthe goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. 17 Do not hide yourface from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.
Observation: Inthese verses, David penned a prayer that our world should be prayingtoday. We are in trouble. I am not aware of any country that isunaffected by COVID-19. I do not believethat this virus is God's judgment; it is the natural results of sinful manbreaking God's laws. We are reaping whatwe have sowed. We are in trouble. We need God, out of the goodness of His love, and in His great mercy to intervene for us.
Application: Asterrible as COVID-19 is, there is a much terrible 'virus' that has settled onthe world. It is the 'virus' ofsin. We have ignored and broken the lawsof the Holy Creator God. God's holy law tells us that the wages of sin is deathand that ALL have sinned. We are INTROUBLE!
We can be thankful that this Holy God is also a Loving God! It is based on God's love that we can appeal,'Answer us quickly, for we are in trouble.' Oh, the goodness of God's love!!!
Prayer: HeavenlyFather, according to 1John 1:9, I confess that I have sinned, and I believe youare faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to forgive us from allunrighteousness. My trust is in you. I trust you to take care of the 'sin virus'and the COVID-19 virus. Thank you for forgiving me and making me a part of yourfamily. Amen
