July 02, 2020: SOAP #3864:   Isaiah 4-5; Psalm 115-116; Jude

Scripture:  Jude (NIV) 1:18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. 20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Observation:  In the last times we can find many people trying to divide us as nations, people and the church.  At first their arguments may appear to be built on some facts, but they are using the facts to divide.  They just choose the facts that seemingly support their arguments.  They ignore other facts.

Obviously, they do not have the Spirit of God.  The fruit of the Spirit is missing.  In the light of this, we are to take responsibility to build ourselves in faith.  And we are to invite the Holy Spirit to be active in our prayers.

Application:  In light of the times in which I live, having a focused relationship with the Holy Spirit is vital.  I need the Holy Spirit be an active part of my prayer life.  I need the Holy Spirit to be an active part of my Bible reading.  I need the Author of the scriptures to show me how they apply to my life for the days in which I live.  I need to be actively talking with Him as I go through each minute/hour of my day.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, you are welcome in my life. I cannot even express how much I need you. Take the lead in every part of my life today. Amen
