Billy G. Hobbs, 86, died Sept. 25, 2012, at Pratt Care Center. He was born Aug. 14, 1926, at Kiowa, the son of James Franklin and Maude Schwantz Hobbs. A Pratt resident for more than 50 years, he was a master licensed plumber. He worked as head of the plumbing departments for the former Independent Lumber and W.R. Green Lumber Co. in Pratt.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

On June 20, 1957, he married Alyce Y. Hinson at Miami, Okla. She died Aug. 26, 2009.

Survivors include: companion, Theresa Roberts, Pratt, a sister, Wanda Cox, Kiowa, a grandson, Ryan Knepper and wife Jennifer, Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Peggy Knepper; and three brothers, Richard, David and Junior Hobbs.

Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery, with Chaplain Ron Moser officiating.
