The Rev. Lowell W. Rasmussen, 99, died Jan. 15, 2013, at Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center. He was born Aug. 26, 1913, at Plainview, Neb., the son of Benjamin C. and Leona Mae Hall Rasmussen.

He was a retired Friends Church minister. He attended Friends Bible College, now Barclay College, and graduated from Cascade College in Portland, Ore. He ministered in the Friends churches in Paonia, Colo., Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Muscatine, Iowa, Indianola, Iowa, Derby, Kan., and following retirement, he served as minister of visitation and part-time custodian in the Denver Friends Church, Denver, Colo. He was a member of the Pratt Friends Church. His hobbies were woodworking and painting.

On June 16, 1933, he married Ruth E. Binning at Yankton, S.D. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Denis L. Rasmussen and wife Verlene, Pratt; a daughter-in-law, Marguerite Rasmussen, Benton; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, E. Rasmussen; and two brothers, Ronald and Melvin Rasmussen.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pratt Friends Church, with Pastor Mike Neifert and the Rev. John Havens officiating. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
