Michael Don Bigler of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 53 years.

Michael Don Bigler was born on April 13, 1959, in Arkansas City, to Donald Clyde and Marilyn Kay (Mirt) Bigler. He grew up in Pratt, attending Pratt Public Schools and graduated from Pratt High School in 1977. He furthered his education by attending Wichita State University for a semester before being employed in golf course maintenance at Crestview Country Club in Wichita. He later returned to Pratt and began operating Biggs Café. After managing the restaurant for five years, he worked as a roughneck in the oil fields until an accident forced his retirement. He attended the First Christian Church in Blackwell and enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Marilyn Bigler of Blackwell; and a brother, Charles Bigler of Chillicothe, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Jana Braddick.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Corzine Cemetery near Corbin, Kansas.

Serving as casketbearers will be Vic Purdy, John Biglar, Chas Bigler, Graham Dickinson, Wayne Purdy, and Karl Braddick.

A memorial has been established in his honor with the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell in care of Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
