Billy Gene Moore, 79, died May 6, 2013 at Pratt Care Center. He was born April 19, 1934, in Davis, Okla., the son of Buster and Maymie (Palmer) Moore.

He was raised by his mother and stepfather, John De Selms. He worked in several departments for the City of Pratt.

Billy served in the United States Army until 1976, retiring as a staff sergeant. He spent one tour in Korea and three tours in Vietnam. He earned three Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, a Vietnam Campaign medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and two Army Commendation medals.

He was a member of the Pratt Friends Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Pratt Elk's Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Patsy (Montgomery) Moore, Topeka; two daughters, De (Roger) Brauher, Pratt, and Eva (Ronnie) McCoy, Spring Lake, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Angela Locke (Tom McGovern), Topeka, and Anna Lisa Tatro (Toby Frisbie), Baltimore, Md.; a stepson, Curtis Tatro (Tom Vaughn), Garland, Texas; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas; his parents; and a brother, Bob.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Thursday, May 9, at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd. Pratt. A lunch will be served and family will receive friends at noon on Friday, May 10, at Pratt Friends Church. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Friday at the church with Pastor John Havens presiding. Burial with full military honors will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
