Billie Jean Worrell, 95 years old, mother of Linda and Vickie and wife of Lloyd, died in her sleep on March 23, 2017. After a beautiful day working in her yard, she laid down to rest and never woke. The Lord called her home.

She was born March 2, 1922 in El Dorado, Kansas, to Maude and Frank Akins. She had seven siblings and they all preceded her in death. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Medicine Lodge and the First United Methodist Church in Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

She was married to Lloyd Worrell on June 15, 1942 in Ratoon, New Mexico. They were married for 70 years before his death.

Survivors include; Vickie Bender of Pratt, KS., Linda and John Adelhardt of Nashville, KS., three grandchildren; Brianna Bender Vogt, Sundee Bender Pickering and Kenny Adelhardt. Her five great grandchildren are; Breanna Adelhardt, Maggie and Easton Vogt and Tori and Kellen Pickering. She also left her beloved dog, Fluffy.

She was a homemaker all of her life. She never knew a stranger, meeting everyone with a smile. She always had cookies or cake for visitors. Her life revolved around her love for her family. One of her biggest accomplishment was building Green Acres Mobile Court in Cunningham, KS.

Memorial service will be April 30, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Cunningham, KS. Memorials gifts may be sent to the Pratt Area Humane Society in Pratt, KS.
