PRATT — James “Jim” Theron Murphy, 57, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.  He was born March 16, 1960 in Kiowa to Phillip Murphy and Ruth (Kutz) Harris. 

Jim belonged to Kilwinning Masonic Lodge #265 in Pratt, Cosmos Masonic Lodge #278 in Kiowa, Midian Shrine of Wichita, Pratt Area Shrine Club, Midian Krazy Klowns, Dodge City Shrine Clowns, ISCA, CSSCA, WCA, and COAI. He was well known as Murf the Rodeo Clown and has been clowning since 2004.  He served as Boss Klown of Krazy Klowns in 2009, 2010 and 2015.  When he was younger he was active in the Boy Scouts.  He worked as a Farmer. 

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Harris of Pratt; brothers, Lee (Mary Beth) Bonnewell of Andover and Leonard “L.D.” (Cheryl) McCormick of Yates Center, KS; sister, Juanita (Marion) Williams of Kingman; stepmother, Wilma Murphy of El Dorado; uncle, Homer Kutz of Medicine Lodge; nieces and nephews, Mickaela (Anthony Holmes) Bonnewell, Brent (Nicolee) Wyman, Shawn McCormick, Kelsey (Hank) Williams, Jayme Bonnewell and Tori Williams; great nephew, Wyatt Williams; and great niece, Brynlie Williams.

He is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Murphy; grandparents, Kline and Irene Murphy and Orval and Elizabeth Kutz; infant sister, Juanita June Murphy; and stepfather Glen Harris.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with Rev. Mike McGovney presiding. Graveside Masonic service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday at the Byron-Amorita Cemetery, Amorita, Oklahoma.
