Pratt High School football team remains undefeated with another Friday night victory, this one over the Eagles of Kingman.
Pratt traveled to Kingman on Friday to defeat them in a 42-0 blowout and build their undefeated record to 5-0.
Jamie Cruce, the head coach, gave all the credit to the players on their undefeated season so far.
“Our kids have had great weeks of practice and have solid understandings of our game plan plans.”
It showed in their win against Kingman on Friday.
Senior Caden Blankenship started the scoring blitz off for the Greenbacks with a 7-yard run for a touchdown in the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter, senior Travis Theis had a 91-yard run, then a 71-yard run to score two consecutive touchdowns. He also had a 29-yard pass to Brett Winsor in the end-zone, bringing the score to 28-0 to end the 1st half.
During half time, the results of the War on 54 were announced. The War on 54 is a competition Pratt has versus Kingman each year to see who can donate the most food to their local food bank. After a three year losing streak, Pratt was finally victorious, collecting 6,675 food donation items against Kingman’s 2,300.
Back to the game, highlights in the second half included Kaden Evert with a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. Hunter Huber ran 9 yards for a touch- down to end the game with 42-0 on the scoreboard.
“We will need to continue to improve as the season progresses,” said Cruce, “Staying healthy will be important for our success.”
Theis lead the team in rushing yards this game with a total of 266.
