Pratt Community College and the city of Pratt have joined forces to bring a new sports facility to Pratt.
Pratt Community College, along with the PCC Foundation and City of Pratt announced Thursday that the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Track and Soccer facility will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Green Sports Complex in Pratt, directly east of the softball and baseball fields.
Over the course of the last two and a half years, the PCC Foundation along with the City of Pratt have endeavored to build a Track and Soccer Facility adjacent to the Green Sports Complex (baseball and softball) on the southeast side of Pratt.
In addition to serving the local schools and PCC, the track will be available to host such events as AAU and Special Olympics meets and will also serve as a health and exercise venue for the public. The field inside the track will have an artificial surface that can be used by the PCC soccer teams, as well as Pratt Recreation programs and the general public.
The ground breaking ceremony is open to the public. PCC and the Foundation are grateful to all of the donors and the city for helping to make this dream a reality for the Pratt community and students.
The facility is expected to be completed before the end of the year, including dirt work, parking lot, bleachers, track and field event areas and the interior turf.
