Arrowhead West clients are enjoying new walking trails and outdoor furniture.
Arrowhead West Inc. clients at Pratt’s Adult Life Skills Bluestem complex are taking advantage of warmer temperatures to enjoy their new outdoor furniture, purchased with a $1,000 grant. The grant was awarded to AWI Pratt and Medicine Lodge Day Services programs by South Central Community Foundation,
“We’re really excited that we were able to provide this funding,” said SCCF Executive Director Holly Rooks. “Our board is happy to support AWI clients in this way by providing comfortable seating as they walk the trails and enjoy nature.”
With the SCCF grant, AWI was able to purchase several benches and chairs to place on concrete pads along the paved quarter-mile nature trails, both in Pratt and Medicine Lodge, AWI Development Manager Nadine M. Lampe said Thursday.
“The furniture is a great addition to our trails. We appreciate SCCF supporting Arrowhead West and our community,” Lampe said.
Completed last fall, the Bluestem walking trail includes wheelchair ramps and some handrails, with additional landscaping planned for the future, according to Lampe.
Shading, grass, trees, bushes, flowerbeds and rocks are also planned to add to the beautification of the area, Lampe said. This area is on the north
