Gold medal performances by several Pratt High School track athletes lead the way for team.
The Pratt High School track team took on eleven other teams at the Ellsworth Invitational on Tuesday, April 9. They earned 87 points as a team to take third place behind Thomas-Moore Prep and Hoisington.
Brett Winsor ran a season record of 40.52 to win the 300M hurdles, and took the gold in long jump at 22’8”. Pratt junior Dylan Cox won the 100M dash with a time of 11.34. Daniel Sanchez placed 3rd in the 200M dash at 23.65.
Pratt boys relay teams took 1st in the 4X100 at 44.58 and 2nd in the 4X400 running 3:32.45.
Sian Helfrich, a sophomore, earned 1st in the 200M sprint 26.33 and 1st in 300M hurdles running 48.14 in that event. Addie Hoeme got 1st in the 3200M run.
In the field, Kaitlyn Rasmussen earned 3rd in high jump with a jump of 5’. Aubrey Meyers took 4th in pole vault going 8’.
On the throwing side, Dawson Snyder earned 2nd place in discus with a throw of 121-07, while Caden Blankenship and Andres Fernandez took 1st and 2nd in javelin with throws of 166-05.75 and 157-02.25.
In girls’ discus, Rheagan Hoover earned 3rd place with a throw of 90-05.50.
The team traveled to Augusta this Thursday and Friday to compete in a two-day invitational.
