The Pratt High School tennis team competed in two meets last week; a tournament at Hillsboro on Tuesday, April 16 and a triangular against Circle and South Barber at Kingman on Thursday, April 18.
The boys competed well at the Hillsboro tournament. Senior Caden Donnenwerth earned 2nd place in #1 singles. The #1 doubles team, senior Chase Folkers and sophomore Rafe Donnenwerth, got 3rd at the tournament while the #2 doubles team, junior Luis Garcia-Jimenez and sophomore Hogan Thompson earned 2nd.
However, the weather at Thursday’s triangular caused some trouble for all the teams. Right before the second matches, it started to rain, so Circle decided to leave to prevent any injuries. Pratt and South Barber still wanted to finish the meet so they traveled back to Pratt. They got in a few matches before they had to call it due to lightning.
The team hopes for better luck with the weather at home this Thursday.
