Jorja Elliott, Pratt, is the recipient of the 2019 Chapter IF P.E.O. $500.00 Scholarship.  P.E.O. is an international philanthropic educational organization which is celebrating its 150 year.  Chapter IF is one of two local P.E.O chapters.  The scholarship is given to a Pratt County senior girl to assist with the first year of college.
Jorja is the daughter of Verlan and Starla Elliott.  She is a senior at Pratt High School and is attending Fort Hays State University majoring in Biology with a focus on Neurological biology.
At Pratt High School she has been a member of National Honor Society (NHS). In 2017, Jorja applied for and was accepted into the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science at Fort Hays State University. She is in the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), was elected Vice President of Service and Programming in National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) in Spring of 2018. She is in the Chemistry/Pre-Professional Club and has been accepted into the FHSU Honors College for 2019-2020 school year.  She has been involved in many volunteer activities at FHSU and has demonstrated leadership in Pratt High and Fort Hays activities.
As an international philanthropic educational organization, The P.E.O. Sisterhood is working to provide women increased opportunities for higher education.  In addition to local scholarships, P.E.O. supports Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri and five educational projects: Educational Loan Fund, International Peace Scholarship, Program for Continuing Education, Scholar Awards for advanced study and research, and the STAR Scholarships which are for Exceptional High School Senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary institution.
