A Pratt man was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident May 11 in Pratt. Injured in the accident was Dennis Chinn, 71, of Pratt.
Chinn was eastbound on U.S. 54/First Street on a 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic when he attempted to make a left turn onto K-61 and failed to yield to a westbound 2008 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 59-year-old Michael Forshee of Pratt, according to a Pratt Police report by Officer Brad Hitz.
The front of the motorcycle impacted the driver’s side front fender and Chinn was thrown from the vehicle. The motorcycle came to a stop in the westbound lane and the pickup stopped facing north on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Pratt County EMS transported Chinn to Pratt Regional Medical Center where an Eagle Med Helicopter transported him to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. A status update was not available.
Forshee was not injured and refused transport.
Pratt County Sheriff and Pratt County Rescue assisted Pratt Police Department at the accident site at U.S. 54 and K-61. The accident was reported at 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
