New high school golf coach looks forward to coming year with the Greenbacks.

After 19 years as a golf coach and an assistant football coach for the Pratt Greenbacks, Steve Landry retired this year and new blood is coming in. Caleb Hendricks will be taking over Landry’s coaching positions next year as well as teaching fifth grade math.
Hendricks just graduated this year from Fort Hays State University; however, he does have some education and coaching experience. He was a para at Hutchinson and Inman for two years while he got his degree. He also coached as a student assistant football coach at Hutchinson Community College for a year, then became an assistant football coach and head golf coach at Inman High School for two years.
“I decided on Pratt for a number of reasons. As a teacher, the opportunity to focus on one subject area and have a whole team of experienced teachers was very appealing. Being able to move up to a larger school and take the next step in my coaching career was also a perk,” said Hendricks.
The new coach said he is excited to be a part of the community at Pratt High School.
“And ultimately the district and community as a whole was one that I felt very comfortable with, one that I’m excited to be a part of,” he said.
