KINGMAN — Nancy Nelson Vinopal, 82, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Pratt Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 1, 1937 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to C. Emery and Doris (Braden) Nelson. On July 5, 1957, she married Lou Vinopal in Minneapolis, Minnesota, they later divorced in 1984 but remained friends. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1999.

Nancy graduated from Minnesota School of Business Court Reporting school, where she met Lou. She was a resident of Kingman for 62 years. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Medical Arts & Kingman Community Hospital for many years. She was a former member of PEO, Beta Sigma Phi and the afternoon Bridge Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, antiquing, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching KU and WSU basketball. She loved spending time with her family, especially holidays.

She is survived by her children, Patti (John) Neumann of Isabel, Lisa (Lynn) Harrod of Lawrence and Tim Vinopal of Wichita; beloved grandchildren, Bree (Kyle) Gorynski of Denver, Colorado, Alyssa (Brooks) Fox of Absecon, New Jersey, Britt Beasley, Bailey Byers, Ashton Neumann all of Lawrence, Avery (Jamie) Hitt of Pratt and Bailey Cline of Andover; great grandchildren, Kaycee and Ethan Byers, Everly and Grace Gorynski and Graham Fox; and sisters, Susan (Les) Oare of Aitkin, Minnesota and Barbara Walker of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Logan Vinopal; and sister, Virginia Nelson.

Cremation has taken place and per Nancy’s request there will be no services.
