Several Skyline Thunderbirds crossed the finish line with personal best times at St. John event.

The Skyline High School Cross Country team competed well at St. John on Thursday, September 19 despite hot and humid conditions.
On the girl's side, the Roberts twins were once again the highest placing athletes for the Lady T-Birds. Heidi placed 10th and Hayley places 11th; there was .28 seconds between the two of them.
Other runners for SHS were as follows: Kyanna Davidson placed 38th, Riley Washington came in 53rd, Brianna Spease was the 55th runner to cross the finish line, and Keyra Washington placed 60th.
Jacob Swisher crossed the finish line in 6th place, followed by teammate Jackson Wallace in 8th place. Other T-Bird runners were Keagan Davidson (42nd), Nathan Adams (43rd), Kyle Hampton (46th), Monty Browning (60th), and Brock McKennon (65th).
“We had several runners place high in their races,” said coach Mike Neifert. “There were quite a few good performances from the rest of the team with several runners coming home with personal best times. Unfortunately, there were others who suffered due to the heat and humidity and did not do as well as they would have liked. We still have work to do, but I'm confident that in time we will have a shot at another league championship and a berth at state.”
The T-Birds will run again on September 26 at the Larned Invitational.
