Greenback golf team has impressed coach with skill improvement through season so far.

The Pratt High Golf team found success at the CKL (Central Kansas League) tournament at the Cherry Oaks course at Cheney last week. Junior Ruby Howell took 9th shooting a 111, and Ashlynn Colavito placed 14th shooting a 115.
Head Coach Erika Householter said Colavito has improved immensely since the beginning of the season.
“Ashlynn Colavito is the most improved golfer,” Coach Householter said. “The first day of practice was the first time she had ever picked up a club.”
At the beginning of the season, the team made a goal to continually improve every day.
“Our goal for the tournament was to continue to get better,” said Householter. “We have made some major gains this season and we just wanted to continue to build on that. We also wanted to prepare for the regional tournament that will be played at the same course Monday, Oct. 14. For the most part we met our goal,” Householter said.
The team hopes to finish the season strong at state.
“We are hoping to finish the season with three girls at the state tournament,” Householter said.
