Skyline girls basketball team members keep fighting through difficult season so far, expect to come out on the winning side in 2020.

The Skyline Lady T-birds closed out the fall semester with a 48-35 loss against the Lady Coyotes of Kinsley.  The game was close after the first quarter, with a score or KHS 11, SHS 9. In the second quarter, the Lady Coyotes extended their lead to seven points. After the break, the Lady T-birds got out scored by 8, widening the deficit to 15 points in favor of Kinsley, 36-21. SHS tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, out scoring their opponent 14-12, but it just wasn’t enough.
“There is no doubt that these kids are fighters and refuse to quit, but we've got to find ways to use that energy to play consistently throughout the game rather than trying to play catch-up in the 4th quarter. We really have to cut down on self inflicted errors...traveling, empty drives, forcing we can use those extra possessions to get up quality shots. Make or miss the shots, we've got to get more quality possessions, and I think as we continue to learn and trust our teammates we will make that happen. The break came at a good time for us as we are dealing with some nagging injuries. We will be ready to get back after it after healing up for a week or so,” said head coach Morgan Ballard
The Lady T-birds will look to cut down on those errors and get a victory to start the 2020 year when Lyons comes to Pratt on January 7.
