Skyline boys basketball team of Pratt defeated Kinsley 80-23 with good effort displayed on offense and defense.
The Skyline Thunderbirds boys basketball team closed out 2019 with a 57 point win over the Coyotes of Kinsley High School, winning 80-23.
Coach Kenny Eddy and staff highlighted the effort displayed as a key reason for the large margin of victory, along with an impressive defensive showing.
This was the third game in a row the T-birds made 12 or more 3-point shots, which helped contribute to the high scoring game.
Steve Fisher and Mark Schmidt led the Thunderbirds with 14 points each. Steve Fisher grabbed 6 rebounds, all on the offensive end, Schmidt dished out 4 assists. Sam Fisher had a well balanced game of 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Nathan Adams knocked on the door of a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
“We've got plenty to work on between now and when we play Lyons on Jan. 7,” Coach Eddy said. “Lyons is a great team that returns all five starters from last year. They have good guard play and shoot the ball at every position. They're 4-1 coming into the game and will give us everything that we want and then some. We are looking forward to the competition.”
