Clyde Davis, 88, passed away Feb. 20, 2016 at Pratt Regional Medical Center in Pratt, Kansas. Clyde was born March 5, 1927 to Calvin and Ruby (Martin) Davis in Pampa, Texas. On Oct. 9, 1965 he married Eveline “Lena” McBeth in Pratt. She preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2010.
Clyde was a self-employed contractor in the concrete business. He attended church at Second Baptist Church in Pratt. In the summers he loved to sell watermelon, work in the garage on his lawn mower, and mow lawns.
He is survived by three sons, Tommy (Brenda) Washington of Pratt, Calvin Davis of Wichita, and Danny (De`Arsay) Davis of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Isabella Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Joyce (Wade) Cruz of Pratt, Maxine Shelvin of Houston, and Sherry (Derrick) Arden of Fort Worth, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and grandson, Harold Davis.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, both at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, with Perry Johnson presiding. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
