Violet Viola Dishman, 81, passed away Feb. 22, 2016 at Pratt Health and Rehab in Pratt, Kansas. Violet was born on Feb. 26, 1934 to John Irvan and Ila Camellia (Meyers) Wright in Scott City, Kansas. On July 15, 1950 she married Ray Gene Dishman in Garden City, Kansas. He preceded her in death July 4, 1997

Violet moved to Pratt in 1973 from Lyndon, Kansas. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pratt. She had many interests including sewing, gardening, painting and playing the accordion. She loved flowers and was very family-oriented. She was responsible for keeping the family letter going and the family tree.

Violet is survived by two sons, Ron (Dena) Dishman and Travis Dishman both of Pratt; two daughters, Deila (Merlin) Siroky of Russell, and Leora Wright of Wichita; three sisters, Ila (Larry) Ivey of Amarillo, Texas, Frances Booth of Liberal, and Carol (Nelson) Garcia of Pratt; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Albert Wright, Ira Wright, and Homer Wright; five sisters, LaVina Bozone, Leona Culley, Fannie Crow, Dorothy Brundgart and Ola Warren; and one grandson, Kyle Dishman.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 718 S. New, Pratt with Curtis Barron presiding. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Coats Cemetery, Coats, Kansas.
