Walking with God
January 03, 2020: SOAP #3683: Genesis 6-8; Luke 3
Scripture: Genesis (NIV) 6:9 This is the account of Noah.Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walkedwith God.
Observation: Whata great witness the Bible gives of Noah"he walked with God. To me this speaks of an on-goingrelationship. They did not just visit oncein a while, but were regularly together. They were comfortable in each other's presence. One was not trying to run away from the other"theywalked together. They walked together andbecame familiar with each other. Theyknew what each other liked. They couldshare their deep concerns with each other.
Noah's relationship with God gave God reason and hope not to destroy all theearth and start over. In Noah, God couldsee what he had planned for man. Noah'srelationship with God gave God hope that a distant day would come when therewould be a people known as the church which would be the body of Christ, thetemple of the Holy Spirit, and the family of God!!!
It would take many years and tears, much trouble and struggle, but throughNoah, God could see that it would be worth it!
Application: I want tobe one who walks with God. I want God tobe encouraged by my relationship with Him. I want God to be able to look through me into the future and see whatpleases Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to be one that walkswith you. May the quiet and alone timesin my day be times that you enjoy because in them we walk, and we talktogether. Amen
Making friends for time and eternity!
