January 30, 2020: SOAP #3710: Exodus 25-27; Acts 6
Scripture: Exodus (NIV) 25:8 “Then have them make asanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.
Observation: In thefirst two chapters of Genesis we read of God preparing a place for man. He made a garden, a dwelling place for manwhere God could spend time with His prize creation. Man's sin broke the special fellowship God hadwith man, but it did not stop His love for man, nor His plan to have a redeemedbody (His Church, the body of Christ) to join in ruling God's creation. Here inExodus we read of man preparing a place for God!
Application: WhatGod does for me is beyond measure in importance, yet what I do for God today isimportant to Him. And in that light, there is something I can make for Him. Ican make my life a special place for Him to dwell. I can make it a place free anything thatwould cause Him discomfort. Around memay be cursing, but not in the dwelling I am making for Him. People may not like my singing, but in myheart, He will hear the music He likes. I will make this dwelling full of His praise. At the end of this day, I want Him to say,'Leon, I had such a good time here today, I would like to spend tomorrow withyou too.' To hear such words from the Creator of the universe would be thegreatest compliment I could ever receive!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide me through each day. Especially watch over my mind andthoughts. When my thoughts are pleasingto the Lord, I know my attitudes and actions will also please Him. Amen
