March 9, 2020: SOAP #3749: Deuteronomy 10-12; Mark 16
Scripture: Mark (NIV) 16:1 When the Sabbath was over,Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that theymight go to anoint Jesus' body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, justafter sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other,“Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 Butwhen they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had beenrolled away.
Observation: These ladies had questions with noanswers. They assumed that the stonewould be blocking the entrance to the tomb. But they did not let their unanswered questions keep them from going tothe tomb. Their love for Jesus motivatedthem to move beyond their perceived limitations. When they arrived, they found theirassumptions to be false! The stone didnot need to be rolled away! It wasalready rolled away!!!
Application: If I waituntil I all my assumptions are cleared; I will never start. Motivated by love, I must step out in faiththat God will take care of the 'stones' that are too difficult for me tomove. If I want to experience some'empty tombs' I must be willing to start my journey before I know all theanswers.
Prayer: Lord, May my love for you motivate me to movebeyond my questions. Amen.
