Obituary: Ronald Prince

Pratt - Ronald Taft Prince, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at his home. He was born September 13, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia to Joseph Oliver and Flora Del (Durden) Prince.

Ronald left home at the age of 17 to serve in the United States Navy. He had many adventures in the Navy which included several tours in Vietnam and special assignments in North Africa. Ronald met and married Clydie Sue (Steppe) Prince, who was also in the Navy at the Naval Training Center in Millington/Memphis, Tennessee on March 31, 1972. They were married for 48 years. After retiring from the Navy, their family moved to Pratt where Ron worked and retired from the United States Post Office. He had many jobs starting from childhood and out of all of them he stated that working as a volunteer at Pratt Regional Medical Center was his favorite and most satisfying. He was a member of Iuka Methodist Church and Kilwinning Masonic Lodge #265. He enjoyed collecting coins and collecting and restoring antique clocks.

He is survived by his wife, Clydie; daughters, Susan (Lee Witham) Prince of Denver, Colorado and Mindy Prince of New York City, New York; brother, Ken (Sheila) Fallaw of McDonough, Georgia; granddaughter, Sloane Chanel Witham of Denver, Colorado; and mother in-law, Irene Steppe-Norris of Pratt.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Nick Prince and sister, Nancy Naylor.

Friends may come to visit and sign the book Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2020 at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka with Pastor Louis Keeling presiding.
