A taco dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27 at the Kinsley High School Cafeteria to raise money for medical expenses of Porter Froetschner, who was born May 21 with a heart defect. A drawing will be held for a charcoal grill at that time. Donations for the grill may be made at the co-op in Offerle, at CPS and S & K in Kinsley and Southern Plains Co-op in Lewis.

A Pratt man is wanted for the alleged rape of a minor child. Jimmy Daniels is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone one with information about Daniels’ location should immediately contact the Pratt County Sheriff’s Department at 672-4133, Crime Stoppers at 620-672-3050 or call 911, said Pratt County Undersheriff Rick Shriver.

A fire associated with roofing materials caused minor damage to the roof at Skyline School Tuesday evening.

With some help from dad Luke Hoeme, Addie Hoeme competes in the open class barrels at the horse competition Monday night at the Pratt County Fair. It took some assistance to get Pokey, a miniature horse, to make the run across the arena after going around the last of three barrels.

Wireless networks Alltel and Verizon are negotiating with the City of Pratt to place a 200-foot communications tower on the former J.C. Foods property, which the city is converting for use by the Fire Department.
