It’s been a strong year for television dramas. The best of the past 12 months gave us a philosophical detective, a father driven to the brink of madness and two fierce female lawyers. Comedy made less of an impact but there were a few exceptions that made the cut. In no particular order, here are my picks for the ten best shows of 2014.
