Pearl Rosemond Shank, 97, died Aug. 24, 2008, at Lake Point at Crestview, Wichita. She was born Jan. 31, 1911, in Greensburg, the daughter of William Ernest and Alice Porter Baker.

Rosemond attended school in Greensburg and graduated from Emporia State Teachers College at Emporia. She taught school as a young adult and was a homemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Greensburg.

Rosemond was a member of the First United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Star of Hope Chapter #193 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebeeka Lodge, Rotary Anns, and several bridge and social clubs, all at Greensburg.
On January 24, 1938, Rosemond married Glenn Shank at Greensburg. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Norman B. and wife Pearl Shank, Pratt, and Robert G. and wife Debbie Shank, Emporia; five grandchildren, Paige and husband Dr. Matthew Rivard, Omaha, Neb., Dr. Sondra and husband Mitch May, Aurora, Colo., Brian and wife Bettina Shank, Neosho Rapids, Scott and wife Kim Shank, Lawrence, and Philip and wife Neomi Shank, Lowell, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren, nephews, Dr. Philip Zongker and Jim Zongker, both of Wichita, and Dr. John Zongker, Jacksonville, Fla.
Rosemond was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Zongker and Elizabeth Updegraff Droll.
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mullinville United Methodist Church, Mullinville, with the Rev. Terry Mayhew presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. A visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
