Patrons, students, family and friends are invited to attend the final Haskins Fun House from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22 at Haskins.

The Fun House is bringing back parts of the Spook House, a past favorite at Haskins in honor of the final Fun House. Pratt firefighters will help with the Spook House, said Andrea Wilson, Haskins Parent Teacher Organization treasurer.

The Fun House will include many traditional activities including the car bash, blowup games for the children, cake walk, face painting plus some new events, Wilson said.

The raffle is always popular and items this year include gift cards, an iPad, a big screen TV and a two-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City.

All proceeds from the event will go into the classrooms for supplies, field trips and to upgrade technology.

Past and retired Haskins teachers have been invited to attend the final Fun House. Haskins will not reopen for the 2011-2012 school year. Building an addition to Southwest Elementary will be less costly for taxpayers than keeping both elementaries open, school administrators say.

Concessions will serve pop, hot dogs, hamburgers, caramel apples, nachos and popcorn.

Pratt Community College athletes have again volunteered to help run the Fun House and local merchants and again supported the event with donations.

“We couldn’t put it on without them,” Wilson said.

Also helping make the Fun House a success are PTO President Judy Koehler, PTO Secretary Alicia Van Slyke and PTO Donations Chairman Bill Bergner.
