The PCC?Shooting Club was the recipient of a $12,500 Kansas Friends of the NRA grant.
They were one of over 54 grant applications worth $300,000 for just $130,000 available grant funds, Caban said.
On Feb. 12, Shooting Club officers Kyle Redger,  Jared Bergner, Jeff Davis, Ross Hein, Destiny Wendland and Angela Duncan addressed the NRA state grant committee in Hutchinson.
They shared the clubs activities, membership, community service work and their goals for the future.
Their efforts resulted in a $12,500 grant, the largest of any of the 54 grant applicants, including Fort Hays State University, from the available $130,000.
The team will use the money to purchase a 40 gun safe, two shot guns and provide funding to take five shooters to multiple collegiate events throughout the state.
