  • Barbara A. (McKinzie) Williams was born March 24, 1940, to Charles and Edna Dill McKinzie in Sequoyah, Okla. She was the sixth of eight children.
Barbara married Charles P. Williams Feb. 11, 1957, in Pratt. They lived in several locations before finally settling in Colorado in 1963. Her main role and occupation was as wife and mother.
She had several careers through her life from secretarial (dental, legal and flight school), to modeling to spokeswoman for Yamaha (as Miss Yamaha Denver), a trophy girl for Lakeside and Erie Motor Speedways and in her later years, and maybe her favorite, as a house cleaner with her own cleaning business.
Barbara loved to read, do crosswords, play card or board games and go to garage sales. Watching and cheering for the Broncos and the Rockies was another favorite pastime. Family get-togethers and time spent with her grandchildren were precious to her. Their accomplishments and achievements were always a source of joy for her.
Barbara was a member of the Parker Hills Bible Fellowship. One of her passions was writing and directing the youth of her church in programs. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.
Barbara joined her heavenly family on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Gerald, Bobby, A.M., Larry and Owen.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years; a brother, Joe McKinzie, Fort Worth, Texas, a sister, Connie McKinzie, Pratt; three daughters and their husbands, Dianna and Casey Chambers, Pratt, Linda and Ken Holmes and Tracy Williams and Leo Holmes, Parker, Colo.; a son and his wife, Alan and Kris Williams, Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held Nov. 20 in Parker, Colo.
